Here Are Some Of The Highlights Of A Career Spanning Almost Seventy Years In The Entertainment Industry

1931: Made his debut as an entertainer when he was six years old.

1938 to 1942: Was an active member of an "Old Time Medicine Show" where he began to learn "Show Business" from the same professionals who trained Gene Autry, Bob Wills, Red Skelton, Roy Acuff, Bud Abbott & Lou Costello and many others.

1942: Enlisted in the US Navy where he Produced Shows to entertain our Armed Forces during World War II.

1945: Upon Honorable Discharge from the US Navy, Hollywood beckoned and he appeared in Western Movies as "Bronco Buck Cody" and "The Cactus Kid".

1946: Recorded his first record for Royalty Records and in 1947 & 1948 recorded for Star Talent Records.

1948: Became a member of The Louisiana Hayride along with Hank Williams, Johnny Horton, Kitty Wells, Johnny and Jack, Faron Young, Webb Pierce, Jim Reeves and later Elvis.

1948 & 1949: Did Radio Broadcasts from KLRA in Little Rock, Arkansas and KTFS in Texarkana, Tex.

1950: Managed his first Radio Station in Hugo, Oklahoma. Later owned seven Radio Stations. Mid 50's through early 60's: Owned and operated Country Music's largest Phone Promotion Unit with over 200 employees promoting Grand Ole Opry Shows with Billy Grammer as the Head liner, Louisiana Hayride Shows, Cody's Helldrivers Thrill Shows and Marvin The Marvelous Magician.

1962: Voted the Number One Magician in The World by The Knights Of The Golden Wand.

1963: Owned and operated the worlds second largest Tent Circus "Colonel Buck Cody's Pioneer Circus and Wild West Show" and later in the same year moved to Nashville and managed Acts such as Billy Grammer, Billy Walker, Sky King, and a dozen other Grand Ole Opry Stars. Having formed Wizard Records in 1959 in Waco, Texas, he brought it to Nashville where it became the first Major Independent Record Label on the famed Music Row.

1969: Relocated to Missouri where he built a Radio Station and the first of seven "Frontier Jamboree Music Theaters" and "Codyland Village", all of which he owned and operated.

1975: Opened the second "Frontier Jamboree" and a Theme Park "Six Shooter Junction" in Harlingen, Texas.

1976: Moved to Austin, Texas and became one of the Founding Fathers of the "Outlaw" movement that took the world by storm. He formed a group known as "Cooder Browne", signed them to Willie Nelson's Lone star Records and Mercury Records, got them the job as Willie's opening act and handled press for Willie's 1979 Fourth of July Picnic while managing twelve other Austin Acts. In December of 1979 moved Stardust Records to Nashville and signed Billy Grammer, Rhonda Vincent, Bill Carlisle, Donna Darlene, James O'Gynne, Larry Butler and many others.

1982: The urge hit to open another "Frontier Jamboree" (the fourth) (1. Marcelene, Missouri, 2. Harlingen, Texas, 3. Georgetown, Texas) this time in Ashdown, Arkansas. He operated this theater from 1982 until 1985 and started the careers of Tracy Lawrence and Rooster Quantrell, just to name a couple. In 1983 he played the lead in "The Vitonka Medicine Show" at the American Place Theater on Broadway, New York City.

1985: Opened his fifth "Frontier Jamboree" in Mt. Pleasant, Texas and the sixth in Athens, Texas. The seventh in Winchester, Tennessee in 1990. 1988: Hung his Hat on Billy Goat Hill in Winchester, Tennessee and heads "The Colonel Buster Doss Music Group" from there to this day.

He is the Writer of over 500 recorded songs and has Produced Thousands of records since 1948. He was voted into the Hall Of Fame by The Country Music Associations Of America. The Greater Southern Country Music Association, Colorado Foundation, Circus, Magician's and Ventriloquist also honored him with their Hall Of Fame Induction's. He has owned and published such familiar magazines as "Smoke Signals", "The Country Gazette", "C.B. News", "The Texas Tourist Guide". "The Country Gazette" is still in production.

These are just some of the "Highlights" of a career in "Show Business" spanning over a half century.
